About Us
KUZA TRUST is a Kenya-based advocacy organisation founded in 2023 to challenge systemic injustice and promote equity, health, and human rights for marginalized communities across Kenya and the wider East African region.
We work at the intersection of drug law reform, gender and economic justice, and accountable governance, mobilizing communities to demand dignity, secure justice, and lead transformative change from the ground up.
At KUZA TRUST, we believe that those most affected by oppression like the people who use drugs, widows, rural women, and people in informal settlements must not only be heard, but must lead.
That’s why our work is grounded in a community-first, rights-centered approach that combines:
- Policy advocacy driven by lived experience and strategic research
- Public legal education and paralegal training to expand justice access
- Innovative grassroots organizing through street theatre, forums, and storytelling
- Direct engagement with systems, courts, health facilities, and duty bearers to reform laws and institutions
- Litigation, civic education, and budget accountability campaigns that shift public narratives and redirect power
We embrace a radical yet practical vision of social justice: one that centers care over punishment, inclusion over tokenism and systemic change over charity.
Just like our communities, we are both rooted and restless, building from below while confronting systems from above. We bring together rigorous legal and policy analysis with action in courtrooms, streets, barazas, and boardrooms.
We are bold. We are grounded. We are KUZA TRUST.
